I dedicate this blog not only to the people who have helped me fulfill this longstanding dream of mine, but also to young people who believe the impossible cannot happen. This blog is also dedicated to my late father, Emmett Shackelford, who always encouaged me to "never stop learning", and to go as far as I can in the academic and professional world. (I love you dad! And I will take you with me in my heart as I travel across seas and explore a new part of the world).
I chose to use the profound work of the poet, Robert Frost, "Road Less Traveled By", because I believe that the poem holds extreme significance to my life and to this trip. I have chosen to take "the road less traveled by /and that has made all the difference (Frost)".
